Become a Mentee

PMI North Saskatchewan Chapter Mentorship Program Framework:

1. Program Overview:

    • The mentorship program aims to facilitate meaningful connections between experienced chapter members (mentors) and chapter members (mentees).
    • The program will be accessible to all chapter members, and the list of available mentors will be maintained by Member Services team.

2. Mentor-Mentee Matching:

    • Chapter members interested in participating as mentors or mentees can express their interest by filling out the form or reaching out to the VP Member Services at vpmemberservices@pminorthsask.com
    • The VP Member Services will facilitate the matching process, considering mentee preferences and mentor expertise.
    • Each mentee will be paired with a suitable mentor based on their career goals, interests, and areas of focus.

3. Mentorship Structure:

    • The mentor and mentee will determine how frequently they want to meet. The mentorship relation will last for 8 sessions but can be extended if both participants agree.
    • Mentees will have the autonomy to set the agenda for each meeting based on their specific needs and objectives.
    • Meetings can be conducted in-person, virtually, or via phone, depending on the preferences of the mentor and mentee.

4. Program Objectives:

    • Provide guidance and support to mentees on various aspects of their career development, including job search strategies, resume building, interview preparation, and professional networking.
    • Address mentees' questions and concerns regarding industry certifications, certification processes, and career advancement opportunities.
    • Foster a supportive environment where mentees feel empowered to seek advice, share experiences, and set achievable goals with the guidance of their mentors.

5. Mentorship Agreement:

    • Mentors and mentees will be required to sign a mentorship agreement outlining the expectations, goals, and confidentiality guidelines of the program.
    • The agreement will serve as a mutual commitment between both parties to actively participate and respect each other's time and boundaries

6. Feedback and Evaluation:

    • A feedback survey will be sent to assess the progress of the mentorship relationships and identify areas for improvement.
    • Mentors and mentees will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the effectiveness of the program and suggest enhancements for future iterations.

7. Continued Support:

    • The VP Member Services and other designated program coordinators will be available to provide ongoing support and guidance to mentors and mentees throughout the duration of the program.
    • Additional resources, such as workshops, webinars, and networking events, may be offered to complement the mentorship experience and further support the professional development of chapter members.

8. Recognition and Appreciation:

    • At the conclusion of the program, mentors and mentees will be recognized and appreciated for their contributions to the program's success during chapter meetings, newsletters, or other relevant platforms.

By implementing this program, the mentorship program aims to create a supportive and enriching environment where chapter members can learn from experienced industry professionals, gain valuable insights, and navigate their career paths with confidence and clarity.

Disclaimer

This disclaimer serves to clarify the boundaries and limitations of the mentorship program, emphasizing the collaborative nature of mentor-mentee relationships and the shared responsibility for individual career advancement and development.

Mentors participating in the mentorship program are volunteers who generously offer their time, expertise, and guidance to mentees. While mentors are committed to providing support and advice to mentees in various aspects of career development and professional growth, it's important to note the following:

  1. Job Search Assistance: Mentors are not responsible for finding job opportunities for mentees or providing job referrals. Mentors may offer guidance on job search strategies, resume building, interview preparation, and professional networking techniques to help mentees navigate their career paths effectively.
  2. Certification Exam Guarantee: Mentors do not guarantee the successful clearance of certification exams for mentees. While mentors may offer insights into certification processes, study tips, and resources, the outcome of certification exams ultimately depends on the individual efforts and preparation of the mentees.
  3. Limitation of Responsibilities: Mentors provide guidance based on their own experiences and expertise but do not assume liability for the decisions or actions taken by mentees. Mentees are encouraged to exercise critical thinking and independent judgment in applying advice received from mentors to their unique situations.
  4. Professional Conduct: Mentors and mentees are expected to maintain professionalism, respect confidentiality, and adhere to ethical standards throughout their mentorship relationship. Any concerns regarding inappropriate conduct should be promptly reported to program coordinators for appropriate action.
